This report is an analytic version of the demographic situation, structures; trends related with socio-economic and cultural aspects and are prepared on the information based on population census 2001 and other related surveys, reports, plan/policies and estimations of population and reproductive health. On behalf of the Ministry of Health and Population, I would like to thank Centre for Social Sciences Studies (COSSS) for undertaking the status review task and preparing this report. The high rate of population growth in Nepal has affected both social and economic aspect of Nepalese people in general. Excessive population growth has caused increased pressure on limited resources available in the country. This Nepal Population Report presents a status review of the population and its dimensions in Nepal.
